I mean the financial state of the club continues to be precarious relative to our size....

Does it though????

fact remains that a manager coming from a Preston or a Luton will have more money to play with here.

I guess what I'm trying to say is we've little money relative to the expectations we have as a club..........

He was unhappy at not being able to talk to anyone else, but he never said he was unhappy being at City.

i remember talking to MON at the player of the year 'do' at the end of the season-a few weeks before he left.

i asked him about the Leeds thing, joking about how could he think of going there.

he said to me that if the board had allowed him to speak to Leeds he would've took the job without a backwards glance.

Still doesn't mean he was unhappy. You'd be daft if you wanted to spend your whole life with the same employer, or look at any other opportunities or whatever.

Ive got a good idea :056: lets leave the past in the past and back the new MON rob Kelly ,i know he say he dont want the job but what he wants is for the board to see what he can do and make them think they thought of the idea first :icon_roll

look at this way the link at the top of the forum puts him up against

"Weekend reports had suggested that the 40-year-old was on a three-man shortlist for the vacancy, along with QPR boss Ian Holloway, who is currently on gardening leave, and current Foxes caretaker-manager Rob Kelly"
ssn

shell we have a pol ............ not give it to Kelly ,come on board just ask the man

to be fair though at the time, leeds were champions league team, top 4 finishes, and with the right management could have been a serious title threat to Man Utd/Arsenal at the time, they had more money to spend, and generally a better squad of players, so couldn't have faulted him for it if he had. But he acted very proffessionally about it all IMO, didn't make a big fuss, upset people, etc just got on with what he was being paid to do

No they weren't. They didn't achieve that until O'Leary took over - and he got the job instead of MON.
My apologies you right i got mixed up with my times, sorry.

I agree although MON made us reach great sites and will always be a legend in my book he wasnt loyal and if it wasnt for the chairman blocking it he would have left earlier. I bet the chairman knew this as well hence blocking the move.
