Apparently Chilwell turned down a new contract offer?

Hope that's not true but that Liverpool story is being reported by a lot today.

£3m though? For someone being chased by several of the big clubs and when we have no reason to sell?

They paid $12m for Moreno. Jesus Christ, Sevilla saw them coming.

If this story is true, there is no way that Chilwell would or should fetch a similar price to Clyne. He's never played a game at Premier League level.

The Metro is reporting he has turned down £18,000 a week.

He obviously thinks he is worth a lot more, despite never having played in the Premier League!

So another unproven 18 year old kid with potential, who does not think he has to learn his craft and and put in the hard yards before he can buy his first Bentley!

Walsh and Ranieri would be best to cash in for the best price and move him on. Obviously does not fit the team ethos profile with his attitude.

Unless it's all newspaper bollocks of course and you're ripping the kid to shreds for no reason.

And even if it were true, who's to blame him? He's a young kid who, so far, hasn't earned any serious money. He could get injured tomorrow and have no career.

From his point of view, he's an England U21 international, with Liverpool and Arsenal, amongst others, reportedly interested in signing him. He's not going to sell himself short and he's probably well aware that there are plenty of people willing to pay him.

I could have been injured at work and have no career when I was young. That did not give me the right to ask my first employer to pay me 25 years salary in my first year just in case.

Something is wrong when a talented, local academy prospect who is progressing well is allowed to leave for a rival club.

Remember Joe Mattock?

He's either got a bad attitude, bad advisors, an over-inflated idea of himself, or some combination of these.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool are notoriously poor clubs to develop your potential at. Their failure rate far exceeds successes.

He is at a club that maximises its players talent.

Something stinks. No sensible person would take such a risk for what is (in relative terms) peanuts money.

I seem to recall us supposedly turning down £5m from Arsenal back in January.

Did you work in an industry where other companies were willing to pay you a shit load of money, despite your relative lack of experience?
