He would fit well into our system. I've always rated him personally.

Christ, maybe then the Mahrez haters would realise what we've got.

Okay, getting tedious now.

Nobody thinks he's shit, everybody would like to have an in form Mahrez in the team over most other options.

People aren't prepared to place any long term plans based on a player who doesn't want to be here, it's not hard, we don't hate him at all.

Now if people could stop getting hatred mixed up with not wanting or planning to have a player in the team who doesn't want to be on it, that would be excellent.

Maybe the scouts and manager should also pretend he doesn't want to leave so that we don't have any options lined up to replace him, that will be nice.

I've wondered on here about the respective roles of Macia and the old guard in terms of our recruitment this summer. All the signings have come in with comments about them being 'long term' targets that we've thoroughly scouted over a period of years. It's almost been as though Shakespeare was deliberately saying this. In effect, these are players from the 'Steve Walsh' era.

So what does Macia do? If he doesn't identify targets or negotiate deals (that's clearly been stated as part of Rudkin's role), what exactly is left?

This article adds to this for me. It would make sense that there are internal disputes between Macia and the old guard. Macia was recruited on the recommendation of Ranieri. Maybe he's recommending players that we're then putting to Shakespeare and the rest and they're not trusting him.

Sell and have a look at getting Clucas from Hull.

Be a nice replacement
Clucas would be an excellent addition. I'd be happy with him and/or Barkley. Sigurdsson has been out of reach for some time now so we can forget him.

We'll end up with Jack ****ing Colback won't we....!
