Speculation Motown's hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded Summer 2017 rumours thread

He shouldn't need another stepping stone.

He's a magician, world class and utterly irreplaceable.

I don't get why nobody other than an also ran Italian club wants him.
Maybe it's because they watched him last season where he showed he was a moody lightweight?

Losing Vardy and Mahrez may not have been the worst thing in the world that summer. Southampton seems to have grown as a club post selling players who sought a 'bigger club' move. I felt we were almost held ransom by player wage demands and the effect it had on the squad largely led to our dismal start and the end of Mr Ranieri. We were never going to compete like that again, I was in favour of a change.

On another note, personally, I'm disappointed Tom Lawrence hasn't kicked on. I had high hopes for a player Ryan Giggs was allegedly gutted to lose when we signed him from Manure. Clearly a very talented player but at £7m to the sheep that represents a very low fee these days. I would personally ensure a buy-back and add-on options to the max.

I agree to an extent but Southampton have never been in a position where they are coming off the back of a title winning season. There were genuine reasons for our big players to stay and play for us, for another season.

If you take yourself back to the start of last season - how would you have felt had the two of them had left? For me it was hard losing Kante - the whole Vardy will he/won't he move saga was horrible - When he decided not to go it was a real boost. I understand your sentiment but you could argue that losing Vardy and Mahrez last summer could have brought Claudio's tenure to an end faster than it actually happened.

If Vardy had gone last season we would have been royally ****ed.

Can we swap Musa and Ulloa instead? Not such a good move for them I guess, but hey ho.
Now that would be a cracking deal for us! Ulloa, as much as he has done good things for us, is spent. Musa.... well.... what is there left to say about him? He's making Tricky Trev look like a world beater.

Musa looked our most dangerous player in pre season.

I feel we signed a load of players and barely gave them a chance last season, which considering how atrocious the regulars were is a bit of a shame.
