This is heading for my nomination for thread of the year though.

Melts, the fact that it's your right shoe indicates that it could well be suffering from a malfunction that may have been caused when you hit that car in the car park, or it could have been the cause of you hitting the car, being your accelerator shoe. However, this does nothing to solve your dilema.

My advice would be to issue a national appeal. I firmly believe that the shoe malfunction was created deliberately and that somewhere else in the country there is a left shoe that performs similarly. It may well be that they were swaped at birth and that someone is seeking their malfunctioning shoe to pair up with their left one and will be happy to swap for their properly functioning right one.
