David Kelly at Preston could be a possibility, Billy Davies has left and Paul Simpson has just taken over, and according to the local reports there is some doubt as to whether Kelly will stay.

Never played together at City, but footballing friendships don't necessarily come from club links. They could have got friendly on coaching courses.

Actually come to think of it wasnt David Kelly at Wolves, coul have been at the time Rob was at the club.

Not sure but too be honest it was just a guess at who the new coach could be, I have no inside knowledge.

I know via a media source that Davies & D Kelly were keen to come here before RK got the job, but DK likes working with Billy Davies, so he may follow him to Derby

Thanks Boc, also explains RK's link to Stowell and why he was kept on after Levein's demise. Would also provide a connection to Stowell and David Kelly, it will be important for all the coaching staff to be comfortable working together.

As for the Foxes Trust stating David Kelly is more likely to follow Billy Davies to Derby, whilst I agree this is a possibility, it would appear according to local media, that Kelly was on holiday in Australia when Davies agreed to join the Sheep and from the stories coming out, Kelly was not consulted and has been pretty much left in limbo.

I would be very surprised if David Kelly stays with PNE, but I am not 100% convinced that he will necessarily follow Davies.

The more I think about this one the more I believe it could happen, especially now Dennis Booth has followed Paul Simpson from Carlisle to Preston. Paving the way for DK's departure ???

There are rumours that the new coach/assistant will be from a lower league club just promoted. Cheltenham assistant manager Keith Downing was a coach at Wolves (mabe when Rob was there), only a thought not even a rumour!....although i suppose it might be now.
