To be fair, yes, in the current situation I think we probably are. Longer term, and indeed without the injury list, then not so much. £50M for him definitely seems like a good deal and I'm easy with it. Players move on, clubs roll with it.

Simpson has been injured, King I don't know about, I suspect Covid has made clubs go for cheaper options

I watched Chilwell in the Chelsea/Spurs match last week. He still has the propensity to position himself so that any ball he receives when out wide means that all he can do is to come inside (which results in him using his right foot which is even worse than the Birchs') or pass backwards. He hardly ever offers himself for a pass down the line so he can get a cross in.

He is a player who could be really special but he seems to want to do just enough, rather than work hard at everything to be better.

He has been outstanding for Chelsea. Pretty much every Chelsea fan think he's sensational.
