His Dad ended his career with Man City and the same applies to him, it hardly tarnished his legacy as a Man U legend.

Would still hate to see it though! Particularly as if we were still in the PL he could well have come back as a squad player to us instead of them.

You'd think so. But possibly not. By most accounts he's having a nightmare at Nice & it could be just one of those "anywhere but here" things. Plus at 36 & knowing that whatever you do now you're never going to get remotely close to your past achievements maybe motivation is an issue?

Might be a case of take some easy money, do your coaching badges & wait for an opportunity to come up in that area somewhere down the line?

Or of course, that could all be bollocks.

He was one of the first, but not the first. The date of the takeover, according to the club, was 8th August 2010. The first signing through the door after that date was apparently Michael Lamey.
