Why do people bother announcing their retirement? There’s no need to.
It puts out an alert to the public speakers circuit that you're about to be free to accept offers. People don't realise how lucrative that shit can be.

Needing some building work doing, and Danny Drinkwater rocks up, with a fag hanging out of his mouth and a pencil behind his ear, banging on about how he won the PL; it's a VIZ sketch that would keep on running 🤣

This guy moves around some! He's done Bromsgrove, Redditch and Alvechurch in about 12 months. For those not familiar with north Worcestershire geography, there's basically all next to each other.

He seemed to be doing ok with Redditch? Bit of a strange move to a team in the same division, who are battling relegation?

Yeah, I don't follow the clubs too closely, but I think Alvechurch have some decent money behind them. They've got a really significant youth set up and are trying to build a new stadium up at Wast Hills (The Haynes) which is next to the Birmingham City trading ground.

Redditch on the other hand, seem to be poorly run as do Bromsgrove, where I think half the board stepped down a few months ago based on a split in direction.

Yeah I assumed there must be a money element to it, but maybe it’s also an infrastructure thing, if he sees that as a step forward long term?

I don’t know much about them either, but I tend to follow a lot of the non league results and tables, as I find it interesting. A lot of the problem is the short term aspect to it though and, what is a club going in the right direction one minute, often ends up as a club going down the pan the next minute.
