Go on then, how do we pronounce Srivaddhanaprabha?

Leicester City's Thai owners have a new surname after being granted a royal honour in their homeland.

King Bhumibol of Thailand has bestowed the family name of Srivaddhanaprabha on Mr Vichai Raksriaksorn, the group chairman of the King Power Group of Companies in Thailand and owner of Leicester City.

The family name granted by the King was published in the Royal Thai Government Gazette.

"It is our family's greatest honour to receive this royally granted surname," Mr Vichai said.

"The name Srivaddhanaprabha conveys positive attributes to the industry and brings in prosperity to our family.

"We have now officially changed our surname since it was published in the Royal Gazette," added the City chairman.

In Thailand, royally-granted family names have been bestowed since the reign of King Vajiravudh in the early 20th century.

It is a tradition of the King to grant surnames to members of the royal family, government officers and private citizens who have contributed significantly to the good of the country.

Whatever they are called I have no issue with them - not that they would be worried if I had. Last year a lot of people wondered if they would pack up and leave if promotion did not come. They have not. They saw a lot of their money wasted by Sven and still have backed Nigel over Chris Wood. I look at some of the owners of other clubs and have to say ours are pretty good.

At the moment I have to agree.

it's a pity they don't own a pie company

I'm guessing that most take-aways are quite used to people asking for a "srivaddhanaprabhapie and chips" of a weekend night

Why is it such an honour for the king to change their name? if the daft bat in buck house tries to change my name she'll get short shrift

I think it's like having your name changed by the British royal family to, for example, Sir Biffa Bacon. It's obviously a huge honour in Thailand, and the Thai royal family are considerably more popular with their people than their British counterparts.

But it's probably best that we all continue to make fun of it, because it's a funny name and Thai people are funny.

That's what they want. Whilst you're ridiculing their culture, you're not questioning the important stuff like chains, concession stock levels and Pearson's animation factor. The condition of the pitch has faded into the shadows, and there's no mention of the fox's trust being toothless and failing to represent the fans in these matters. It's all a cover. Fiendish orientals.

How can you state that? The Thais still enforce lèse-majesté and, if you trust Wiki's stats, 2006-2011 saw a 1,500% increase in cases coming to trial.

With "The King shall be enthroned in a position of revered worship and shall not be violated. No person shall expose the King to any sort of accusation or action" who the **** is seriously going to stand up and call him a ****?
