i agree with that too but i saw him play on the wing for his old team and boy was he fast ,he would move down the wing then cut in to cross or shoot IMO it would be good for him to have that role with 2 good strikers for him to feed/work off let hume be the floating player in the box

I lived in Liverpool when Hume played for Tranmere and I never remember him playing on the wing,he used to play just behind a front two or one:102:

So now a City fan has called Ian Hume a cnut?

Close to having seen enough.

I really don't get the abuse of Ian Hume, then our fans moan when the player decides to move on.Hume isn't fireproof but its a fact that he is along way ahead of the rest of the shite we have.he may even improve with some half decent players around him.Yes he misses chances but he has to create most of them himself

That was the point - Hammond WAS slated when he missed a shot, but Hume was Huuuuuumed when he missed the same shot!

But he isn't here, people like to point out Hammonds good points on here but few point out Humes.I think the team would be poorer without Hume in it you don't its only opinions:102:

How do we know Hume can play on the wing? Can he cross a ball?

I think his best position is up front. As someone pointed out the goals he scored he usually created himself. So what if he misses a few? Andy Cole springs to mind!

He was our best striker last season without any doubt. He isn't the finished article yet but he is worth his place in the side.

If we play 4-4-2 we can't have Hume in an attacking midfielder role.
And i don't fancy him as an out an out right winger, as that would be wasting too much of his time on a defensive role.

IMO he either plays off a real dynamic target man in 4-4-2, or better still he plays 'in the hole' in a 3-5-2 formation.

For me 3-5-2 will help us turn a lot of our drawn games in to wins more easily, just like it used to 10 years ago. Lck of defenisve numbers and organisation has been our problem, as we have never been an immenselty prolific team in front of goal.

We have people like Mattock and Stearman at fullback who would benefit a great deal form the chance to get forward and not be tucked in at the back in a 4-4-2.

Don't know who the right back is in our great youth team?
