New Season, Match 1 - 2030

I've been told the kick-off is 2030 but no confirmation over the opposition.

Who can make it etc? We may have came to a crossroads if we have 8 fit players.

No. I keep trying the website but with no luck. I presume with a 8.30pm kick-off, we didn't get relegated.

Is your Dad ok to play? Because a decision needs to be made with us having 8 players.

My dad should be fine hazz, he's on ibuprofen but is feeling ok. will give a definate tonight but assume yes he's in.

Just spoken to goals, we are in the same division, game at 8.30 against Syston.

When we spoke to the ex pro last week he said Stringer had been out for the last 3/4 weeks with an ankle injury, so will be interesting to see if he plays.

I assume you will still get your normal call to confirm harry

It's getting a bit silly with the unassigned teams again. 3 of them in the bottom (my) division, 2 of them in yours.

How many of the vacancies will be filled by teams that are far too good?

indeed, they could just merge the two divisions, but then it gets to the point where there is no downside to finishing last, or up side to winning the bottom division.

My dad is definately in Hazz.

If you look there's two further empty spots up the league. Shove 2 up and then make the bottom two divisions nine teams.

Anyways, I've told Paul that we can't fit him this week.

Tomorrow I release my holiday spreadsheet where anyone can tick down the time they are unavailable, with Summer here it's obivious that people will want to play but at the same time I don't wanna mess people about by giving them the odd game here and there (in fact I've had an enquiry today). We are going to have the solid 8 of myself, Geo and Jacob, Matt's trio, fcukcov and Kempson/pds for the next season. It might be worth us setting up a team on another night and giving that another crack if demand is sustainable and worthy (it wasn't worth it last time) or alteratively booking a pitch somewhere (maybe even a park), getting 12 of us on another night for a kick-about.

As for the solid 8 on Thursday, the question remains that if we have 8 fit players do we use a rotation system or keep as it is, if you lose your place, you have to wait or for me as previous to make an excutive decision (that happened very rarely tbf last two summers).

Don't think it's worth setting up another team,as it'll just turn out as it did before. Gutted at not playing, got the all clear on Monday but I undestand after how well you've played recently.

There is not point in a second team as Kempson has mentioned. There will only be loads of interest in during the decent weather then we will be struggling to get 6 again on the cold and frosty nights.

Hazz as manager you have to make the decisions and don't worry if you think they are gonna upset someone, they will just have to take it, thats life! Thats the way i look at it, if that person then goes off after being dropped and takes no further interest then you are better off without them! (this is in no way a dig at you pds!)

Its a tough job hazz but someone has to do it!

I agree Leroy, wouldn't fancy doing the job. I'm desparate to get back playing again but as I said you've done well and I just have to accept it. I'm not ruling out coming to watch and injuring one of you feckers though. :icon_lol:

If Paul is fit and can regain the form he had before (we don't want a Kisnorbo on our hands ) then I am happy to play with 8 and have a couple of minutes less on the pitch that that will result in, i'd sooner that than loose any of the team at the minute, and I think Paul will help us.

I know it would slightly confuse the subs, but if we did a double sub every time then the timings work out about the same I think.

Sounds about. You attack me a couple of weeks ago when I was in goal.

Might be right, I'll have to work it out.

Right worked it out and with a double sub every 5 minutes (though it also works out identically if we do single subs, which would be better as less disruption and longer runs) it works out that the starting 4 players (ignoring GK) will spend 15 minutes a game on the bench and the initial 3 subs will spend 20 minutes on the bench.

I will work it out with different sub timings after lunch.
