If it is - which would surprise me as it's well within the city and therefore not much of a "belt" - then I fail to see why they'd want to sell it as it wouldn't attract much of a fee. And it wouldn't be much of an "asset".Is it not classed as green belt?
Asset stripping already.... must be desperate for cash.
They can say what they like about the facilities there. It's all tosh.
If they were saying "we're selling the training ground, we have a buyer, and we'll probably look for somewhere as an alternative but in the meantime we'll be using Vicky Park" I'd be worried that it was classic asset stripping. But they're not saying that. They're saying:It is clearly asset stripping, there is nothing like buying more players to generate cash, classic slippery slope blah blah etc etc
IF they do what they say they are going to do - and I have no personal reason to doubt them at this point - then it's clearly NOT asset stripping. Obviously.City are now actively seeking the right land for the multi-million pound project, which will be financed largely by the sale of the Belvoir Drive grounds off Aylestone Road.
"We are hoping to move to another site where we can construct much-improved facilities to take the club forward."
Anyone who thinks this is "clearly asset stripping" therefore must think that Mandaric and Hoos are telling outright lies. Why do you think they're lying to us like this? What do you think this evil duo will do next, sell the ground to Tescos?
