Milan needs to get a grip its not like they are asking for 20million its 400 thousand. Just stop being such a tight arse and pay it Milan !!

You've never had to manage a budget have you?

Do you really think if we can get away with paying half the amount they want, we shouldn't because Milan is being a "tight arse?"

We're talking potentially £200,000 or something else for six figures. We can't throw money away and for that sort of money, we can probably finance a loan signing for the season.

How the hell do you decide how much a player like N'Guessan is worth?

"In making its judgment the committee will take into account the costs of both clubs in operating a Football Academy or Centre of Excellence, as well as the age and playing record of the player, the length of time he was registered with his original club, the terms offered by both clubs, the status of the two clubs, the substantiated interest shown by other clubs in acquiring the registration of the player and any amounts paid by the original club to acquire the player in the first place."

How the hell do you decide how much any player is worth?

UEFA have a formula that's used to determine what compensation should be. It's based on the level of the buying/selling clubs and the number of years he's spent at each level.
I don't think the English system follows the UEFA formula strictly but the compensation for a player from the fourth division is never a massive amount.

Would the deal be likely to include performance based add-ons or other sell on clauses etc?

Yes, well it did for Nicky Adams and a lot of other deals conducted in the same manner.

I just wondered if the tribuneral would be adding them in seeing as the fee is out of the selling club's hands.

Didn't we get Gareth Williams on a knocked down tribunal fee after refusing to pay some astronomical asking price?

The tribunal set the fee at half a million.

This is what was reported when we made an offer to the trees:

Forest chief executive Mark Arthur told the club's official website:
"Leicester's offer was derisory, there's no other way to describe it.

"If the matter has to be decided by a tribunal we will be looking for
compensation of between £3m and £5m and Leicester's offer was way out."

Cheers Jeff. So we paid 10% of what the greedy robbing b'stards wanted.
