I don't know what to think any more. One moment I think we are feckin useless and the next I see glimpses of potential. I want to go back to the days where you didn't rely on the cheque book. You had a manager and a squad for the season and that was it.

We might have if the fans had some patience.

I'll give him the whole season, cheers. Not everyone is a reactionary twat.

Reactionary doesn't mean what you think it means. Reactionary would describe somebody that doesn't want to change manager.

I'm disappointed in you Teddy, you've let me down

I was never that enthralled by Pear Son comin gback inthefir stplace. So far, he has done very little to change my mind. Last season we were mid table mediocrity and so far I've seen nothing to make me believe that this eason will be any different.

There are people saying that there is something wrong in the core of this club and I must admit that I can't really find an argument against this. No matter who takes charge, the team just doesn't seem to be able to perform like a team that wants promotion.

I'm not going to join the Pear Son out brigade just yet, however, I am finding it very difficult to see where a man that appears to manage by personality will get us promoted. I don't know what the answer is, however, I don't think that it's Nigel Pearson.

I believe that right now is the time to sack him. I don't think that it's far away though. Never mind all the "sack him now and we waste the season " shit, stick with him too long and we repeat last year. ****ed if we do, ****ed if we don't ... your choice.

The irony of this is the only time we actually have looked like being promotion material was when NP was in charge the first time. We strolled League 1 and were very close to a play off final.

That should read ....I believe that right now is NOT the time to sack him

Exactly, and I'm amazed how people can see into a season and write it off, or at least say it's no different to last, after 3 games.

We're only doomed if we massively over react to a slightly disappointing start with our 3 league games and an embarassing defeat to a lower league team in a poor cup competition which to more teams than people realise.

So yes we are doomed it seems.

I am not sure either of you know what reactionary means.

A reactionary would not want to keep Nigel but revert to a previous manager. Someone who wanted Martin O'Neill back would be reactionary as would someone who wanted Peter Taylor back. One might be a to use Ted's rather one-sided phrase a "reactionary twat" the other might not be.

The decision to replace Sven by Nigel was, at the time reactionary.
In contrast the decision to appoint Paulo Sousa as manager was really radical.
A decision to stick with the manager we have got is neither reactionary nor radical - but may turn out to be correct.

Somebody that is 'reactionary' is somebody that is resistant to change, namely, political change. A small 'c' conservative.

"A reactionary is an individual that holds reactionary political viewpoints which cause them to seek to return to a previous state...." (Wikipedia)

Surely the very act of wishing to return to something is by definition meaning that they seek a change, albeit back to what once was.

I'm less interested in this pointless crap about definitions of words that are probably outside the vocabulary of circa 90% on this forum and only interest the likes of Macky who seems to think this is some sort of Literacy Correctional Zone - and I'm more interested in whether Pearson is actually going to deliver anything.

Anyone who thinks that the Thais will settle for anything less than a promotion challenge is deluded. They lose money if we get stuck in the present rut and they will have to pay dear again if they sack another failing manager. Not a happy situation. The less painful scenario is that Pearson conjures up some sustained success. I'm not especially hopeful because money is shelled out and players come and go.....but the results remain very disappointing.

Jeez. No need to overreact.

Better if we contain the pointless crap to football rather than Grammar lessons.

Anyway 95% is probably an under statement.

I think you'll find that understatement is all one word, rather than two

What have I told you about relying on Wikipedia for definitions?
