we are already up.

If you want to make it interesting, I have some money here what says we are going up. It would take a fool to bet against it.

Ye, it would take a a fool to bet against it but it is still possible that we could mess it up. I think we will go up however there is still 13 games to go and it is possible that we could hit a bad streak and not go up.

Well having seen most of the teams this division has to offer, they are utter shite, and while we are messing things up, they have to come good as well, and that I cannot see happening.

I agree the other teams are shite but still we are not up yet how people can be so sure is beyond me ! I cannot see it happening either but im still not saying we are up until we are !

The average points per game, extrapolated out over the rest of the season, looks something like this:

Leicester 2.2121 - 13 games left - *29 points - 102 points total
MK Dons 1.9677 - 15 games left - *30 points - 91 points total
Peterborough 1.8181 - 13 games left - *24 points - 84 points total
Millwall 1.7741 - 15 games left - *27 points - 82 points

(*rounded up to nearest point)

We could be as bad as we were last season at getting points, and still get promoted unless Peterborough or Millwall improve on what they've already done. We're on 73 points. Twelve more points could get us up, from 13 games. Win three, draw three, lose seven. Seeing as we've only lost two in 33 so far, suddenly capitulating to seven defeats in 13 games would be a collapse in form of almost unknown proportions, even for Leicester. And even then, unless someone improves, we'll still get promoted.

It's not over till the fat lady sings, but the lardy bitch has been clearing her throat backstage for months, and is now reaching unbearable, glass-shattering volume. I've not counted any chickens, but look closely: there's a little beak poking out of every eggshell.

Realistically, we're as good as promoted IMO. And I don't think that's misplaced confidence, it's statistically very likely and is only what fans of other clubs are already saying.

If Ifs and ands, were pots and pans, there'd be no need for tinkers.

How many points do we need to be guaranteed a play-off place.........? ?

...but mathematically, how many points guarantees 6th or better. Also, how many would guarantee 2nd?

We can't say how many points would guarantee anything, but we can have a realistic look.
If each of the teams below us go on a good run and get 2 points per game, they would end up with the following:

MK Dons 91
Posh 86
Millwall 85
Scunth 83
Leeds 79
Oldham 78

On that basis we would need 6 points from 13 games to make the play offs and 13 or 14 points (dependant on goal difference) from 13 games to gain automatic promotion.

If our form dips that badly I would be gobsmacked. We would also be in deep poop for next season.

We are up!

Don't say things like that so early please!

I'd say we now have seven games to match the other teams left. That's the way I see it. That's better than nine to match so the countdown of matches to match is getting towards 0 and then and onyl then will I crack open the champagne.

I agree. :102:

Everyone seems to be forgetting florist went up last season in 2nd place with 82points!!! That is a fact.:

Who cares about last season? Seasons are never going to be the same if we go up then we go up are own way and that should be with 100 points.

Last season was unusual because one of the main promotion challengers was docked 15 points (add 15 to the Leeds total and they'd have finished 2nd with 91 points).
That hasn't happened this year, so comparing the two seasons is even less relevant than it would normally be.

max with 11 games left we can get is 98points
looking between 88-92 points as a total
and this if is the wins start coming in
...

not quite squeaky bum time yet..:icon_lol:
