What's your stance on it then Jeff? Are we asking people to not do it anymore??

I have deleted threads occasionally when I've seen people breaking the rules - including one of yours.

I can't check everything and I expect moderators to use their judgement when they see something dodgy. But at the end of the day he posts are the resposibility of the person who makes the post, and if I'm required by law to pass on the IP address that was used for a particular post I'll do it. So people should use common sene before posting.

On a similar subject, the club is giving cameras to fans to record their experiences at home and away grounds - and this includes taking pictures inside the ground.

But it's against the club's rules (printed on the back of their tickets) to take a camera into the ground. Maybe people can get away with it for home games, if they explain what it's for, but a steward can refuse you entry to the ground if you're carrying a camera.

Its a ridiculous rule, I would say 50% of people going in to the ground take a camera. Completley unpolicable.

does that 'rule' apply to mobile phones with a camera/video on them :102: they cant confiscate them all :icon_lol:

Was that a backhanded dig at me ;)

Did you delete my post about OrangeCable (code word ;) ) then? What was wrong with that exactly? Did I link to it?

This is the rule in full:

No person may bring into the stadium or use within the stadium any equipment that is capable of recording or transmitting (by digital or other means) any audio, visual or audio visual material or any information or data in relation to a match at the stadium.

Mobile telephones are permitted within the stadium provided they are used for personal and private use only.

Typical, just as my subscription is coming to an end :( Oh well, I can't afford to renew it, so I guess I just won't be able to see the highlights anymore. At least I can tune in on the radio while I'm at Uni.

I deleted a post about some file sharing software that allowed you to download a film.

Probably a Porno...

Actually, the owner of the server hosting the offending post is responsable, and they in turn make you responsable to them. the FA could sue your ISP for losses, and prosecute for fraud, i'm not sure if they could prosecute you, but if you read your terms, your ISP certainly can.

I'm no lawyer but i had a similar problem with a star trek game i used to run on the net, i recieved a very vague stop or else letter from startrek.com and a very clear threat of legal action from my ISP. the letter from startrek.com was forwarded by my ISP, this is why i'm not sure if the FA could reach you direct, or if they just dealt with my ISP because that would be more effective.

Also worth noting is that a 'clause' in copyright law states that the owner has to show intent to enforce their rights or they risk loosing the copyright on the grounds of abandonment, this is why we have seen the music industry prosecuting downloaders, so while it might not cost LCFC, PTV, or the FA much, they are obliged to enforce it. so they may be keen to prosecute at least one site as an example!!!

If they were that fecked off the club would have started legal action by now....

If anyone is worried about IP's being logged PM me and I'll post it. Doubt much legal action can be taken upon me when I'm out in S.E asia....

Webbo don't wanna get you in trouble mate but shite like this has gone on for years not just with footy websites either.

Why do the club want people filming their match day experiences anyway????????

So they can pretend they give a shit about what it's like.

The radio link is the same every week anyway. People should just keep it saved somewhere ;)

If that was true there would be no forums online, people would be too scared of getting sued.
if someone phoned you with a link to illegal stuff you wouldn't expect BT to get the blame.
if someone posted it you wouldn't blame the Royal Mail.
The person posting is the one responsible for what they post.
If a copyright holder asks me to remove a link I will, but I can't be held responsible for what other people post, unless I've failed to move it after being asked.

the problem with the ptv video links is that there's no protection on them. How is someone supposed to know that the link is to something that should be paid for?

So do I delete a link if it is posted or not ? :102:

You can get the Commentary on the OS for nothing anyway....well I can.

How? Are you sure? You're not supposed to be able to..

However if you go to the commentry link, it's the same for every game, so you can just use that all the time for free.

I just press the 'Match Live' option and it comes on...but my subscription to World ran out at the end of July:102:
