So's Pratley, Bothroyd, Westwood, Sinclair etc, doesn't mean you're guaranteed to get a move to the Prem.

And before I get picked up on it, I know Naughton already plays for a Prem side, but it seems his future lies elsewhere.

Sinclair isnt good enough for the Prem. Not yet anyway. Thats been proven by the last few years of him flopping at Wigan and Chelsea etc..

You've gotta like our situation for possible promotion atm? The only pressure in the squad should be self-pressure in knowing we/they can do it. We have nothing to lose compared to other teams in the division. Yes, money as been spent but it's loans and come end of May, our wage bill returns to normal.

Relegation is not going to happen due to our home form, Sven's showing every indication that he'll be next season regardless and when funcitioning right we have one of the best footballing teams City have possessed in donkeys. So even if we don't get there, I can see us scoring tons and watching us top, notch football pissing past the likes of Cov and Pompey at Walkers.

Only downside in failure to reach the play-offs means no Yak staying for example.

C'mon Sven and the boys, I want May ruined by play-offs!!

Optimistic of Leicester

I think this is a very interesting post. However, I should warn you that judging from the previous thread on Speculation Patrick Van Aanholt you can expect a startling confession from Cate about her concentration levels :icon_bigg and a post from Beighton demanding that all posts should be superficial.:icon_bigg

Not superficial, just concise. And H gets special dispensation because I understand his lexical disability and the more words he writes the greater the chance of it making any kind of sense.

I dislike overly long posts, many on here agree. Its not a crime.

Watford and Forest have played two matches and all the rest have played one fewer. I'm not counting Leeds because if each of the teams wins their games in hand (might not be possible if they play each other) then Leeds will be out of the top 6 anyway. Swansea would occupy the 6th place on 47, 8pts ahead of us. so, ok, maybe 9 pts would do it.

Bearing in mind that Forest are already above Leeds it doesn't matter what they do. All we need to do is get 6th spot and Leeds will only be out of the top 6 if Watford get a win and at least a draw in their 2 games in hand which may or may not happen....And Watford still have to come to us.

If we carry on our current form through to the end of the season I think we'll make the playoffs.

Depends how far you go back on "current form."

I've just worked out a table based on the last eight matches form.

We'd finish 11th.

Blades 22nd again. Love it :038:

Anything greater than the last 4 games and it's doubtful. 4 or less would be a stupid population. :icon_wink

We just need to keep winning and not worry about anyone else. Blades away next Tuesday is the only game that matters right now. Win that and we can move on to the next one. Lose it and we lose our momentum and the play offs may seem too far off.

For me the season will not stand or fall by getting to the playoffs - even if we get there the odds are 3-1 still against promotion.

My support for Leicester is mainly about the home-matches which are the only ones I can get to. It is about the atmosphere and the camaraderie with the people near me. It is above all about enjoying the football - which is much more enjoyable when Leicester win.

Coming away from the Milwall game my mind was mainly on how well Yakuba, Vassell and Dyer worked together and how I look forward to seeing them again against Barnsley. Considering the position in the table was secondary.

Surely, the odds against promotion are 1-4? :102:

It's a one in four chance, which is 3-1 odds. Three losers, one winner.

Yes, I'm being dense. For some reason I was thinking 1-1 = 100% rather than 50% odds.

Though it still should be 1-3 odds against promotion, rather than 3-1.

A lot of the teams near the top havent played eachother recently - looking at the upcoming fixtures this will change and this will sort the men from the boys or there will be plenty of draws- which will favour us.

However we need to win the majority of these type of games particularly at home and get a draw away.

After 46 games I think we can be there. But we have to win one game at a time and it starts on Tuesday night!
