That is the justification for monitoring and controlling every aspect of our lives. Who decides what actions to monitor and control and how to do that. The same group of people and I see a conflict there. :icon_conf

I hope playing with the CD changer/radio/sat nav also falls into this category. :102:

what about changing gear ,you have to take your hand off the wheel to do that about the same amout of times you would puting your hand to your mouth for a cigge :102:

not if you have an automatic..

I'm a non-smoker, but I disagree with this. Its no more dangerous than driving and using the radio/music system, particularly when actively changing stations/CD's.

You will be pleased to know then that smoking and other distractions such as loud music, inserting a cassette or CD or tuning a radio are all included in the same section of the new Highway Code.

An insane law made by power hungry ex-smokers on a morality trip, supported by the passive majority who are easily swayed

Such a good idea, and let's stop people talking in the car as well - it must be a distraction, mustn't it ?

Wankers

It's not a law - it's advice.

If people are insane enough to ignore good advice, ...

Its just the government hammering smokers at every opportunity - its very en vogue. How is smoking any different to eating or drinking or applying makeup? I see all of these things everday on the way to work.

Eating and drinking is included as a distraction in the same paragraph as smoking. There is no advice yet about applying make-up, shaving or plucking nasal hair.

what about dressing? Loads of times I have left the house in socks and got dressed on the way to where I am going?

I thought DSG was another form of automatic?

Is DSG not developed by VW? Bet it will not work properly. VWs are a pile of shite.

Its 'manual' automatic yes :) It works perfectly and is well recognised as the best automatic gearbox in the world by a country mile.

What do you think of Audis?

I had a Quattro sport a few years back. Had no problems what so ever. Best ride was London to Ratby in just over 50mins. It was 2am though

A VW Audi, they are made in the same factory, with the same parts by the same company :icon_lol:

My VW is better made than any of my BMW's :)

I would still look down on a VW though......:icon_bigg

they own Skoda but I still would not have one

More fool you then.

Three years ago I had a Skoda Octavia with a 1.8 Turbo engine, went like the clappers. Build quality remarkably good too. Seriously thinking about another one for when I replace my current car in a month.
