I'm a non-smoker, but I disagree with this. Its no more dangerous than driving and using the radio/music system, particularly when actively changing stations/CD's.

Having a cigarette is nothing like changing the music on your stereo unless you're a complete tard and it takes you 5 mins to push a button.

An insane law made by power hungry ex-smokers on a morality trip, supported by the passive majority who are easily swayed

Such a good idea, and let's stop people talking in the car as well - it must be a distraction, mustn't it ?

Wankers

My auntie smokes and numerous times has dropped ash into her lap causing her to panic and swerve. I think this is the main reason for banning and I fully support it

As I read it it's not new law, just a recommendation in the Highway Code.

Its just the government hammering smokers at every opportunity - its very en vogue. How is smoking any different to eating or drinking or applying makeup? I see all of these things everday on the way to work.

In terms of driving it isn't. Doing any of the above could mean that you are not properly in control of the vehicle and could lead to prosecution.

but you need a smoke and a few drinks then just to calm you down...

My best mate, many moons ago had a couple of large whiskeys before taking his first test forgetting that it would notice on his breath. The examiner refused to test him and threatened to call the police.;)

Biggest load of shit, since they said we can't smoke in public places.

If they are so worried about smoking tobacco then why not ban it? Oh yeah thats why, it's because thats where the bastards get most of their money from so they can take all expenses trips etc. And the ****s are still allowed to smoke in the houses of common.
