I salute you Henry. :icon_bigg :) From the BBC.

Henry Allingham, the world's oldest man and one of the last surviving World War I servicemen, has died at the age of 113, his care home has said.

Mr Allingham served with the Royal Naval Air Service in WWI, later transferring to the Royal Air Force at the time of its creation.

Are you bored today Steven?

Are you bored today Steven?

Only by stupid comments like yours. :icon_roll

Here was a link between the 19th and 21st Centuries, fought for Britain on land, on the sea and in the air, who was a bit of a character and was well liked by most people who came into contact with him. If nothing else he survived and for all that he deserves recognition at the very least. :038:

I agree Steven, I agree, well said.

this is the sort of guy who deserves the send off that jade goody didn't

if we had lost the war we would not have free speach etc so what i said stands :icon_wink

If Britain had lost the war it's difficult to say what would've happened (apart from that there wouldn't have been a second world war) but I can't see how you would've lost any of your liberties.
None of the losing nations lost any of their freedoms, so why would Britain have lost theirs if they'd lost the war?

RIP A real inspirational character, unlike some of the know-it-alls on here.
