Neither Danny Cadamarteri nor Darren Kenton were out in Leicester on Saturday night - they caught the 18:25 train from Cardiff Central up to Paddington for a night in Larndon town. Had a decent chat with them as we waited for the train and a shorter one as we approached Paddington.

Both seem to be nice blokes - certainly no 'airs and graces' in their attitude. For a player who has been around a bit, Cadamarteri has a shocking knowledge of the geography of the UK. And Kenton seemed to take it well when somebody (a City fan, who shall remain nameless only because I don't know his name) came up to him and congratulated him on his goal in the afternoon's game! :icon_eek:

Wake up people, are you suggesting that young lads with loads of money be somehow grounded while not playing to the level we think they should? What, so young professional footballers have a curfew when they are not on top of their game?

Wakey wakey people.

And what makes you think they do after they leave work? My question to you is, would you? Do you think many modern-day footballers seriously believe they have a level of reponsibility in gaining results?

From the minute the Manager has stopped the post-match chat the players will be on the text and working out what to do that night, just like any other employee of any other work force.

would i what??? i think a large proportion of players arent that bothered tbh as long as theyre playing and picking up their wages its not as if many players have a real affinity with our club is it

And if they must go out on the piss then go and do it outside of the City Centre

these are footballers we are talking about, thick footballers. They would never work that one out in a million years.

Would you consider not going out and having a life if your work performance wasn't up to par?

Can you please name me five players who would give a shit so much they wouldn't go out? You think Steve Walsh, Matt Elliott, Gerry Taggart etc would stay in and ****ing pray if things weren't going well?

I'm all for criticising the players on the field, but to ask of them to behave differently off it is silly. Fact.

And saying they shouldn't be allowed into the City Centre after a defeat is silly too.

But would you not agree that it may look to fans that they don't give two shits about the Club? It's bound to piss people off if they have paid to watch them under perform again on a Saturday afternoon then they see them out later that night,it is a bit like rubbing the fans noses in it.They can go out of course but stay out the City Centre

And if there are City fans in the local pubs around the county?!

Alex, it's not about drinking when playing bad, that's acceptable. The problem is when players are playing bad because of their drinking.

I'm not saying this is happening as I don't have a problem with the being out drinking. But if and when it affects their work, then I will

Of course that's a problem and one that an employer should take a view on. I wouldn't expect to keep any job I had if i was letting alcohol ruin my work, I really don't think this is the reason.

one of my old school friends signed for the city and played nearly 100 first team games. When we used to go out we used to go out towards Northampton, Coventry or Rugby. This was to reduced the chances of him being recognised and either being pestered or abuse shouted at him depending on results. He also didnt drink at all, stuck to soft drinks

But its going to piss people off.Where would you draw the line?

By being reasonable. It's reasonable to expect footballers to have a life. However I fully understand why fans would get upset by it and think they'd be stupid to drink in the City Centre following a defeat. That is common sense.

Personally i would like to shoe in a couple of them to teach them a lesson that to play for my club requires more committment and if I saw them out, for example after a display like Sheff Weds at home, I would certainly have a chat with them....

Fecking hell, they'd be beaten crapless in Cov! :-)

And a lot of the players live in Leicester, so they have to travel miles to get a drink they should be entitled to buy in their hometown.
