Osbourne Deal On Hold
Posted on: Fri 18 Jan 2008
Leicester City boss Ian Holloway today confirmed that Aston Villa midfielder Isaiah Osbourne would not be joining up with his side ahead of Saturday's Championship clash against Norwich City.
Holloway had revealed on Thursday that he hoped to capture the 20-year-old England youth international for a one-month loan period to bolster his midfield ranks.
But an unfortunate last minute change of plan has meant that the deal has now been put on hold.
Holloway said: "Isaiah arrived at our training ground this morning and joined in with the lads on the pitch.
"But I then got a call from Villa saying that Martin (O'Neill) had just run off their training pitch and asked for the player to return because they have got a few injury concerns of their own going into the weekend.
"It's disappointing, but these things happen. What we saw of him this morning was very promising and we'd still love to have him here if and when he becomes available once again."
City will be without club captain Stephen Clemence for this weekend's clash against the Canaries, while winger Zsolt Laczko faces a late fitness test.
