I'm neither for Dikov or against him, but I do worry the direction we are going. The 4 main forwards would be Dikov(35, will be interested if his legs are gone), Howard(32, who's can't run more than 5 yds, Hayles(36, can last 20 min), Fryatt(22, but no speed). gives me the impression that no matter how good our wide men are going to be who's going to keep up with them and for how long.

Dickov is precisely who we need up front this season IMO. Defences will hate him, he will get us lots of free-kicks and play with the guts League One requires.

I can't see how we can choose to start with Howard ahead of Fryatt considering the preseason they have both had, scoring wise.

The Blackpool Gazette are claiming there will be a press conference at the walkers today to announce the deal.

Jeff - Have you been tipped off for a press conference today, or will publicity shy Mad Mandy just go for a paper/electronic press release instead?

There is a 2PM press briefing at the stadium today.

It's supposed to just be the normal briefing they hold before every match. But I was notified of this yesterday, so things may have changed since then.

The event will take place at the Walkers Stadium Media Suite at 2pm.
