laudrup for me, failing that o'neill

Yes, this is awful, looking back though perhaps not as surprising as the initial reaction might suggest. Media wise Nigel had issues, throw in his sons shenanigans in Thailand and his position becomes untenable and we as supporters should have recognised that. Our owners are very successful businessmen on a global scale, with their power base being the far east. I cannot see how they could have reacted differently given the negative exposure that the club has had over the last few weeks, this kind of exposure would have tarnished the 'King Power' brand. The decision to sack Nigel would have been taken when this story first broke, a replacement would have been identified at this stage. Cambiasso, I would like to think so but is untried, there are plenty of first class managers out there, and the owners are in the enviable position of being able to pay for a top but not necessarily British manager.

What a lot of speculative claptrap. Well done.

The owners have invested hugely in the training ground and the sports science. they are here for the long haul and I think they will be looking for a manager who is genuinely able to push top ten, not just good enough to stop us getting relegated.

Are you allowed to poach managers already in post before the season starts?

There's no transfer window for managers.

Laudrup - no. I read an article a couple of years ago when he was at Swansea. According to that he very rarely stays for more than 2 years at a club, after initial success he always has a less than good second season and either bails or gets the tin tack. Apparently there is a pattern.

So how do you get a manger who is already in post? Whisper to his agent? Secret meeting in hotel? Manager mysteriously resigns? 3 days later manager is offered job?

I'm not sure how this relates to your first question. Unfortunately I'm unqualified to answer, as I've never had the need to hire a first team manager for a football club.

For the fans to forget NP - Klopp/Hiddink

To keep the majority of fans happy - Laudrup/Allardyce

To p*ss of the majority of fans - Dyche/Lennon

For the blue mongies - Cambiasso

I guess I might be a mongie then, as I think that Cambiasso would be one of the most exciting options

I agree - he will make a top class manager one day. Whether or not it's too soon for him I don't know, but I would rather have someone unproven than someone proven to be shite.

Plus we are excellent at proving people to be shite regardless of previous track record.

Top for manager I reckon

For me Allardyce is the safe but short term bet. He will keep us in the Prem but if the owners are serious about making us a top 5 club like they said a year ago then they will need a manager like Klopp. However unrealistic, at some people they will need to realise it.

Odds dropping on Neil Lennon.. Klopp enters the fray at 20/1 at ##### but drops to 16/1 at SkyBet. I can't believe this so I have whacked a bet on.. We can dream I suppose #waste
