HEAD TO HEAD
The two clubs have met just 10 times in the past, but only five of those clashes have come with league points at stake. Both City and Posh have four wins apiece overall.
EARLY MEETINGS
The first ever meetings came in the League Cup in 1964-65, when holders City were restricted to a goalless draw at Filbert Street in Round 2. The Foxes eventually progressed with a 2-0 win at London Road in the replay.
RECENT HISTORY
7 of the other 8 clashes came between 1992 and 1993, incorporating League, League Cup and Anglo-Italian Cup fixtures. Our most recent visit to London Road was back in December 1993, for a Division One game that ended 1-1. Last December, when the teams resumed hostilities at the Walkers Stadium, the Foxes cruised to a 4-0 win.
BIGGEST WINS
That victory last December was actually the biggest win recorded by either team to date. The best result achieved by Posh was by a 3-0 scoreline at London Road in April 1993. The biggest goal feast actually came in the Anglo-Italian Cup qualifier at London Road in August 1993 which ended 4-3 to the home team.
GOALSCORING HEROES
Phil Gee ranks alongside Steve Thompson as City's leading marksman against the Posh with just 2 goals. Overall, Peterborough's Tony Philliskirk leads the series with 3 strikes against the Foxes.
DEBUTANTS
Those 10 previous clashes have produced 4 City debutants: Bobby Svarc made his bow in the League Cup in the 1960s, whilst Gavin Ward, Brian Carey and David Speedie all donned a City jersey for the first time on the opening day of the 1993-94 campaign.
