Slimani has suffered a setback in training for Newcastle - the setback is allegedly related to his thigh injury rather than realising he doesn't want to play for Newcastle.

Faces another 2 weeks out.

Just saw on Twitter, that it means he'll now play a maximum of 8 games for Newcastle, which would give an estimated cost per game of £250k....

He was injured when he left us apparently

We stitched them up there didn’t we?

Bring him back. He can’t be much worse than the shite we have in our central midfield at the moment.

Enjoyed watching the blood and thunder top of the table clash between Wigan and Blackburn this lunchtime on Sky. Callum Elder looks a decent (though not PremierLeague ready) left back, keeping his head and standing up to the roughhousing he got from the Blackburn forwards. Nick Powell looks like his troubles are well behind him, and I wouldn't be surprised to seem him go to a Premier League side this close season.

Musa with CSKA’s 2nd goal as they beat Lyon 3-2 away, and go through on away goals.

I have to admit that I know next to nothing about CSKA or that league so I don't know why Musa seems to be having success there and not here. Can anyone who does know a bit about them shed any light on it for me? Is it weakness of opposition? Is it the setup or style that CSKA employ? Is it none of the above and more about the individual being happier?

well actually getting a run in the team is a good starting point, we have a habit of chucking someone in after not playing for a prolonged period of time and them struggling, as they would in that situation, and then dropping them immediately for another prolonged period of time

He plays one game after another, it's a radical approach.
