Since the club are aiming for promotion he needs to keep up that kind of form for the rest of the season to demonstrate that he is the man who can achieve that. Considering, as far as we can tell so far, he has no pedigree in going into the transfer market he needs to prove what he can prove with the players at his disposal.
Just not being relegated may be enough for the fans and the club right now, but it shouldn't be enough to keep RK in a job.

Look, if our financial position is as it seems to be - RK won't need much "pedigree going into the transfer market" - the only thing he will need to learn in the short term is how to say "cheerio" to some of our best players.
Also, if he can achieve an average of 2 points a game across a season with the players he is likely to have at his disposal next season then I suggest he is not only more than adequate to manage LCFC but he should also pick up some additional work at Lourdes.
Finally, RK has one overwhelming other quality .....he's on the payroll and we won't incur the additional expense of bringing in someone else - still less an already contracted manager.
I don't think you would get very long odds on RK being made manager at the end of the season - racing certainty IMO ..and good luck to him.
but the wider employment rights legislation is so weighted towards the players (in the sense that they are treated as employees rather than chattels of the club) that they basically move around at will anyway.Melton Fox said:I remember the days when a manager would come to a club and "manage" the players that were already at the club.
Then a new style of manager evolved and would bring a whole new backroom squad with him because they were part of "his team"
Now the new manager has again evolved and has taken a turn for the worse. They bring a whole new playing squad with them. To me, this shows their inability at man management and at managing a team of individuals to gel as one.
It takes the skill out of "scouting" and a manager tries to become the players friend instead of his boss, in order for the player to follow him to his next club. The player thinks the manager is his friend and will then ultimately take the piss because he knows his name is first on the team sheet every week.
It's all bollox really. A company isn't allowed to sell it's employees. But it is allowed to sell it's assets / chattels. So therefore a player is an asset, if he is to be sold. Obviously the Bosman ruling stipulates that when out of contract a player can walk. But if he is in contract, can his employer legally sell him, he can release him from the contract, but sell him?. Is the selling money classed as compensation settlement from the other employer? This is the only way I see this being legal.Redditch Fox said:but the wider employment rights legislation is so weighted towards the players (in the sense that they are treated as employees rather than chattels of the club) that they basically move around at will anyway.

SilverFox said:It is still a gamble appointing him. We know very little about what he can do in the transfer market.
Don't get me wrong though. He has done a fantastic job and I am very happy!:icon_wink
