It's all bollox really. A company isn't allowed to sell it's employees. But it is allowed to sell it's assets / chattels. So therefore a player is an asset, if he is to be sold. Obviously the Bosman ruling stipulates that when out of contract a player can walk. But if he is in contract, can his employer legally sell him, he can release him from the contract, but sell him?. Is the selling money classed as compensation settlement from the other employer? This is the only way I see this being legal.

Could selling an employee to another employer be classed somewhere in law as the illegal slave trade, or do they get around that by paying astonomical salary's
What is being sold is the player's registration, but he has to agree to it, and will quite often arrange a payment from the selling club as an inducement, not to forget a signing on fee with the other club. The power is still mainly with the player, no player can be transfered without his agreement.

Not too sure about Rufus yet. He looked alright, but that was only ten minutes. If he is only cover I think it is a good little signing.

Can't complain about Welsh. Horrible miss, but a great run, and he looked like he was eager to get involved and battle. The Jury is still out for me though on the signings front.

his first touch of the ball told us all what he's like ,he boots the ball clear where normal we try and play the ball out of that area and normally lose the ball and let the other team attack ,IMO he'll do ok for us ,plus help some of the younger players out

It reamins to be seen how he deals with a full 90 mins though. I liked what I saw but, as I said, it was only 10 mins.
