So, another point gained today to mean that (should we not get another point from now until the end of the season) we will finish 15th - quite remarkable.

If we get 1 point from now on we will probably finish about 8th on 60 points.

If we continue at 2.00 points per game (our average points per game thus far) we will end up with 76 points and probably end up about 3rd or 4th.

All, amazing stuff considering last season and the 'great escape'.

If we gain 3 points next weekend we would be guaranteed 13th place (with no points from the remaining 15 games).

It's 8 from 4 in our goal to get 40 points from the 2nd half of the season.

Behind schedule, then......

It's better to look at the equivalent fixtures from the first half of the season and look to us matching or exceeding them. From the Bournemouth, Spurs, Villa and Stoke games first time round we picked up six points. Second time round, we picked up eight. That's two ahead of schedule for me.

Notable that we only picked up one from the next three matches so even if we lose them all, I still have us being on schedule.

I was being (ever so slightly) not entirely serious (which you probably know). However, your way of looking at things is an interesting comparison. Again, what a situation we find ourselves in, to be looking at it from our position.

On all fronts, though, those two missed penalties are even more annoying and who knows what they might cost us by the end of the season.

Every season contains a number of 'should have done' and 'could have done' moments that result in dropped points.

It evens itself out generally.

I don't doubt that for a second. Still frustrating, though (although it feels a bit unfair to say this).
