Pre-season friendlies

Nigel Pearson’s men will gear up for a second season back in the top-flight of English football with trips to Lincoln City, Mansfield Town and Birmingham City.



City’s stars will first be put through their paces at Lincoln City’s Sincil Bank Stadium on Tuesday 21 July (KO 7.45pm), before taking their preparations up a notch a few days later on Saturday 25 July against Mansfield Town at One Call Stadium (KO 3pm).




A trip to face Championship opposition in the form of Birmingham City will then follow on Saturday 1 August. That fixture will take place at St. Andrew’s stadium with a kick-off time of 3pm.

The "'showcase' match at the stadium" takes place a week before the new season starts - yes? And it's against top-class foreign opposition - yes?


Well the new season starts on Saturday 8th August and

Birmingham City vs. Leicester City
Saturday 1 August (KO 3pm)

So it looks as though there is going to be a break from tradition. We have become somebody else's 'showcase' match. :icon_sad:
