I've been thinking this for a while now and the performances of our sides in Europe this week has confirmed it. The Premier League is shit.

We have one decent team in it (Chelsea) and they're only the best because no manager has a brain when they play them. All the other sides are rubbish. Some good players, but no good teams.

I've been utterly staggered by quite how low the standard is. Watching it on tv over recent years gives a completely false impression. It's like the emperor's new clothes. The teams currently 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the league are all managed by sad old loons who do their jobs like robots. There is no innovation, no cleverness, no team that is greater than the sum of its parts. I don't blame the players either. It's the managers. They're largely a fecking awful bunch of idiots.

I think this is why I've been so annoyed this season. We're the shittest team in a league of shit teams. It really isn't difficult to stay in this league. There is nothing complicated about it.
