I concur. We're doing that a lot recently and it's quite disconcerting.

Another example from us would be the end of the first season under Taylor.

To outsiders, we'd done fine that year with a mid table finish, a spell at the top of the league and a FA Cup quarter final. However, those of us that had witnessed the disintegration of all the things that had worked well for us previously feared the worst.

Not all of us leaving the stadium after being hammered 5-0 by Bolton on the first day of the following season were shell-shocked. Quite a few of us saw it coming.

In the same way that the momentum from our Great Escape carried through to the start of the following season, the downwards momentum from the end of the previous season was pretty evident then, too.

Fortunately I was playing football on the day of the Bolton match. Unfortunately it was with a team from Nottingham, who were all Forest fans. I got absolutely ripped, when we heard the score, after our match.

Sky are going to rearrange their sport's packages and intend to offer 2 football only channels. Seems that they are feeling the bite of reduced subscriptions and maybe they'll question whether the Prem tv deal was in their best interest. I can only see this meaning that the next PL deal will not be as lucrative for clubs. Let's hope Top is planning ahead.
