It was an absolute farce. It's incredible that a little team like us was allowed to win the league when you see shit like that happen to smaller clubs all too often. Totally with Colin on this one.

Yep, I’m with him too.

Also why VAR will be good for the game. Home teams and/or big teams intimidate officials. I think VAR will be worth several points a season to the smaller sides.

I get that point but I personally dont buy it. It'll be a delay followed by dodgy decisions rather than an instant **** up.

I think VAR should be run along the lines of the NFL. Give managers one “challenge” per half and, unless the evidence is incontrovertible, the original decision holds. If they get they challenge correct, they keep it for one more go, but they’ve got to say what they’re challenging and not just open endedly look for something wrong.

I would add that it can only be for factual decisions and not subjective calls, but the NFL is now looking at those too (pass interference), something which I’m not sure I’m comfortable with, but I can see why it’s happened.

Yes but NFL is already a horribly slow, brutally boring sport.

Slowing football down kills one of the attractions of the game.

I’m trying to limit the use of VAR, to counter that slowing down. VAR is coming, it’s just a matter of how it’s implemented.

Yes but I'd had too much to drink and so my pointless post was very important at the time

Not a preferred set of results for us last night. It doesn't happen often but I was rather hoping for a ManU win.

I must admit that OGS has softened my stance on Manchester United significantly. Definitely the team I would want to win in the Manchester derby now

Hands up everyone that hopes that Spurs win their first game in their new home tonight?

Anyone?

No, me neither.

Schlupp to score the first goal?

Places 3 to 6 is looking like a very interesting contest.... if Chelsea can keep it together and the OGS 'feel good' factor stays in place. I'll have to compare the run ins.
