It would certainly be desperate. He's not managed a Premier League game for more than a decade.

He spent three years as a Premier League manager at Middlesbro finishing 12th, 13th and 19th with a win rate under 30%.

As England manager, he is a phony. His win percentage is worse than the likes of Hodgson and Capello. He's fecking awful tactically. His only play is to pick kids and cross his fingers. It is an absolute joke that he (a) got the job, and (b) is still there.

Any media reports that link him with Premier League jobs can only possibly come from friendly journalists being prompted by his agent. There is not a hope that any 'serious' team would ever go for him.

As Kane has worked with Southgate for some time, I would be very surprised if him being appointed manager of Spurs didn't lead to him wanting out even more quickly. He surely knows how shit he is.

I would feel the same, but, strangely, there are clearly people out there who think he does a good job, so who knows.

I like Southgate as a bloke and have been around him once or twice. Genuinely lovely fella...I’m entirely unconvinced by his England tenure, especially that defeat to Croatia.

It certainly sounds as though Yanited are considering other than trying to entice the loser from them.

Perhaps we worry too much.

I hope they get Southgate though; not as good as they've already got IMHO.
