I think there are 3 big moments there that need to be taken individually:
1. Liverpool’s first goal. I’m of the opinion that should have been pulled back because there was just a legitimate mixup on the restart. There was no free kick, it was a drop ball and Dean let them play it. Just completely, objectively a mistake
2. The disallowed West Brom goal. Realistically I’ve seen those given and not given. I just about think it should have stood, but I can’t be too too upset in the cold light of day. Probably a goal, but one I’d be complaining about if it happened to City
3. The extra injury time for the corner. I do more broadly wish football would replace ref discretion with an actual, objective timer, but that’s a conversation for another day. I don’t have an issue with him letting them take the corner. Again, you would be fuming if they didn’t let City take a corner
So one objective error, one margin call and one that I can’t be mad about realistically. All went scouters way. Jammy bastards.
