In fairness, it was a bit of prolonged merry-go-round at the start. Imo, it took a little longer than usual for frontrunners to be established. But yes, it now does have a familiar look to it.
For myself, I do wonder where Villa would be if they hadn't had games postponed. They're a decent team, playing with confidence but arguably more than the sum of their parts. Their slightly more relaxed schedule may have been some assistance.

Having watched the superbowl I never want our sport to have the kind of constant awkward pauses filled with advertisements that they have. You have to suspect if they are planning to use the constant pauses for VAR in the same way. If we are going to keep VAR, just have them tell the referee in his ear when he's got something horribly wrong like missing a player being chokeslammed to the ground. Bin off all this screen on the side of the pitch bollocks, and the checking of every marginal offside decision with VAR.

Wise was, and probably still is, one of shitiest individuals ever to walk the earth. No redeeming features whatsoever.... IMHO of course. I remember well his antics as part of the group of arseholes they lauded as the 'crazy gang' , as if being thugs was somehow laudable.
I cannot fathom why we ever signed him, it was never going to end well, and I was ashamed by it. He lived down to expectation. If there was ever anyone I'd wish disease on, it'd be him.
