It was a bonkers appointment from the get go. If he was a decent manager he’d have had a job at a level higher than Celtic before he hit his late 50’s.

Having said that, the club is clearly rotten to the core. Even managers at the highest level have tried and failed.

Perhaps, yes, but if they continue this cycle of sacking the manager every year and a half it will never get better. The problem with modern English football is nobody is allowed to go through a bad patch whilst they try and build something.

A rare exception to this was Arteta in the first two or three seasons.

If 'Big Ange' is sacked, the next person will have a brief new manager bounce and by next season all the fans will hate him. They will phone up 606 saying it's not working and he's got to go. Nobody learns anything. Nobody has any patience.

I’m not sure whether I wanted the game tonight to be a draw, to keep two teams down there with us, or West Ham to win, to leave Wolves still partially separated in the bottom three. I definitely didn’t want Wolves to win though, so that’s a bonus.

I wanted a draw. Two points awarded between them rather than three.

But oh well. I just hope Wolves don’t change manager before they come to our place.

Yeah I think I agree, a draw would have been better. I knew I definitely didn’t want Wolves to win though, so that’s was the result I was dreading.

A draw would definitely have been better. Look at the positives though - it means we spend at least another round of fixtures out of the bottom three.

If we can pull together a really good January we might be able to pull ourselves out of the mire.

Long old season.

Wolves have Ipswich and us as their next 2 games so it's not that far fetched they could be above us before Christmas.

We could also be 11 points clear of them too so the margins are really fine at the moment and no one is out of it yet, but Southampton are starting to get cemented down there.

I think 18 points is the minimum we need to have after 19 games for a strong chance to stay up as I fancy us to pick up a few more points in the second half of the season.

Potter really doesn't fancy being a football manager again does he?

Has the privilege of sitting on a mountain of Chelsea cash for as long as he fancies.

His reputation grows the longer he’s away.

He can, and will, wait for the one he thinks is right.

Fair play - I’d do the same. And if he never works again, he’s a made man.

Waiting for Spurs.
