Problems with mcafee

I dont know if anyone else has had this problem so I thought I would try here first. I've got McAfee anti virus on my pc, and recently its stopped doing real time scanning-everytime I try and turn it back on it automatically turns itself back off. I've googled the problem and all the solutions given are varied and quite technical.

I was wondering if anyone else on here has had the same problem or if they might be able to offer me an idiot proof solution!

Honestly, I would get rid of McAfee and use something like AVG or Avast!. They are as good, free and in my experience much more lightweight and reliable than the big two.

Solution: uninstall McAfee. Install a proper anti-virus program in the form of Kaspersky.

Also works for those using Norton.

Not really sure. I was going along the lines of if the cat was dead, then it would be a solution; however if it wasn't dead then it would not be a solution.
