360 its cheaper has the same games plus most of sony's exclusives are coming to the 360 anyway.

If you have half a grand to burn and want a cheap blu-ray player then the PS£ is good.

create a new email address with hotmail and then sign up to xbox live silver with that. You will get 1 month for free on gold but you will have to create a new gamer tag and have 0 gamerscore points. Not that that really matters, as I been doing that for the last couple of months as I like you cannot afford to pay 30 quid or whatever at the moment!

How does this online business work on the 360:

Do you have to pay?
Is it wireless, my router is downstairs and if i get one, my 360 would be upstairs, is there wires for it?

Also this hard drive they rate so highly, what is so good about it, can you put a disc in store it on your hard drive and never need that disc again ?

Please help me :biggrin:

Approx £30-£40 per year, depending on how you purchase your subscription.

Yes, it would work from your wireless router downstairs, but you'd need to buy a receiver for the back of the xBox.

The hard drive is just a hard drive, nothing special but you MUST purchase the 360 with a hard drive for online gaming.

You can't store discs, you still need to use it to play (unless you d/load any games from xBox Live, they're stored onto your HD.

You can store music etc. The HD is mainly for saving games, profiles, updates, game updates etc etc.

ok thanks for that, i will now look for a good deal online. Can you, or anyone else recommend the best place to get one, or an estimated cost? Also i have seen different Xbox 360's, which the best one if you know what i mean e.g. premium, standard etc

You have to pay, although they will give you a month free to begin with. You can then either purchase extra months, or 3 months or year at a time. Think its around £40 for a year.

You can connect wirelessly although the wireless adapter for the 360 costs about £50 and then your router which again will be around £50. I have just got a 25m cable going from my room to downstairs where the router is, cable was about a fiver off ebay delivered.

The hard drive allows you to store game saves on there, music, video and any content downloaded from the marketplace. You can get demos for games, extra stuff for games and videos like film trailers from the marketplace although I think they are expanding on this with IPTV content. You cannot rip your games to the hard drive as far as I know.

Well worth buying one if you will have the time to use it. I bought mine after xmas but have had shit loads of work for my final year at uni so have not really seen the most of it yet, although i love it to bits! Especially if you are getting a HD tv, it looks sweet as ****!!

By the premium package.

+ A Wireless reciever.

Should get the lot for under £300

Make sure you get Gears of War (or get your parents to, it's an over 18 game):icon_lol:

I got a great deal at Gamestation jessel, not sure what their offers are like at the minute, but well worth a look if you are considering trading in your PS2.

Yep ill be looking to trade in my slimline ps2 and games which i have quite a few of, which most of them are newish games, so i may look to sell this to someone, if i dont get that much from Game or Gamestation. What was your deal?
 
I have a wii as they are good fun. I will probably get a 360 when i get a HDTV.

The PS3 is a white elephant. Somebody set up www.wii60.com as you can buy both consoles cheaper than the PS3 and get a much better set up.

It stated in one of the London free papers tonight, that police near the flagship Virguin store on oxford street, are worried about youngsters getting mugged at 12 pm tomorrow night.

Either before they go to the store with a shed load of pocket money or after they leave with all their goodies :biggrin:

Any yongster alone in London with 500 readys on them or an PS3 in the middle of the night deserves a good shoeing, along with their brainless parents I hasten to add
