Football gets ****ier by the day and the greatest thing that will ever happen in sport has been and gone and it’s all downhill from here.
But you know what, that was always bound to happen, in a way. Nobody can ever take away what happened two years ago. It will always, ultimately, be downhill from there.

I feel the fans have actually dealt with it well and have always been backing the team from the start of games.

The players / manager have responded with a stream of constant shit.

Oh yee of little faith.

Alternatively, suck on it big boy, Claude is not going anywhere soon.

I'm sure you are right.

This will have to run its course but the first pain will be a drop in ST sales and match attendances. I think that this will have a sticky end for Puel following a disappointing summer transfer window. But nothing is certain in football and we shall have to see.

It seems odd that Puel appears to want a youthful possession/passing lineup, but talks about extending Morgan's contract?

I am a great fan of Morgan and would love him to stay, but unsure how Puel thinks he will fit into his transition team.

Keeping Maguire is also a no-brainer, but I wonder why some people advocate getting rid of Okazaki. I think he has a huge impact when allowed to terrorise a defence in the number 10 role.

Okazaki isn't a number 10.

Unless he's hassling the defender to win the ball he's totally unable to find the space, receive the ball and stay on his feet long enough to take advantage of said space.

We either need a real number 10 or we change formation imo.

what Puel basically said about Morgan's contract was "we will see" its what he says about all things like that

Fecking muppet. If he wants any respect from us then he should at least be honest - we're not blind and stupid. If he spins that kind of shit in the changing room, it won't be long before one of the senior players lamps him.

It's worth anyone listening to the RL phone in - about three quarters in - the Soton reporter tells exactly the same story as we've seen. That the football didn't need changing but he did it anyway and it was for a style that was turgid, negative and tampering for the sake of it. And that his communication skills were shocking and he wound up the senior players until they wanted him out.

Have a bit more BN:

I'd like to be optimistic about next season. Can anyone who is currently in that boat explain why? Just interested in why people feel things will get better next season and what this system he's trying to implement is rather than the shit he is doing now. The evidence I can see so far is we were doing well when he first started and then stopped being interested in scoring goals. I'm grateful for the new manager bounce we enjoyed and has us safe but since then it's been grim.

Reasons to be cheerful?

Exactly. As I said earlier, this is all about wanting the best for Leicester City.

Our club will be better and stronger if we lose these last few games.

We need lots of booing too.

I'm undecided on Puel. I don't think he's trying to play turgid football, but some of the players can't play the way he wants them to. Certainly some of the football in the second half against Burnley was very good. No one can say for certain whether it's best for the club for him to go.

Did you boo Martin O'Neill at the Sheffield United game?

We had this a few years ago, and i was going down the BN train of thought. Can't rememeber who it was - Levein or Megson or possibly Sousa

This stuff is pretty rotten at the moment, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was then

I was probably wrong then, and BN is definitely wrong now - you should never want your side to lose, no matter how bleak it may seem

Yes I did. And it was the right thing to do at the time. It worked wonders.

think some of you need to remember how shit the football was when Pearson replaced Sven and he had a team of players that couldn't do what he wanted all the time, thank god the owners didn't do then what many want them to do now.

We have never been a side that plays exciting football, the actual football we played in the title winning season wasn't great it was the winning that made it thrilling.

I wish he'd simply drop the players that he thinks cannot cope but he probably feels doing that would do more harm than good for whatever reason and moving them on in the summer is the better option, much like Pearson did, when he came back

I am truly baffled. That incredible counter attacking football wasn't exciting football? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

don't mistake thrilling moments with thrilling overall style, the counter attack was a thing of beauty but it was the winning that made people happy with it, imagine if those comebacks vs Villa etc. where we kept going 1 or 2 behind had been loses instead of wins do you really think people would have been happy with the style?

The first point could be argued for any manager who isn't wanting to be sacked. Would be a bit odd if Pardew, DeBoer etc asked their players to play shit. Just because some managers turn things around doesn't mean this one will and the evidence so far suggests the opposite as we're looking worse.

Second bit is absolute bollocks.

I understand that people don't like the pace of our play, but I think a lot of this is down to the players unfamiliarity (or lack of ability) with the possession style. They are taking too much time to decide what to do and it's slowing things down, and making it easier to defend against

Even with that though, for most of our games under Puel I think our shots and expected goals stats must compare favourably with last season and early this season in the league.

Last season and the beginning of this season we were supposedly trying to play the same style that won us the league, but this had turned to 'hit the ball aimlessly up field and pray Vardy is somewhere nearby. We weren't creating anymore chances than we are now, and we spent most of games uncomfortable on the edge of our own 18 yard box, until we inevitably caved.

Apparently that's more exciting?

I believe the change of style was needed, and that if we hadn't we would have been relegated.

At least now we are competitive in most games, and generally comfortable. We often have more shots than our opponents, and also more high quality chances if the expected goals stat is to be believed. Individual defensive errors have cost us, but I don't see that as a symptom of our new style, rather personnel.

I think to make a success of new system we will need a new right back that can put a ball into the box, a less accident pronepcenter back, and a creative midfielder or number 10, as well as replace Mahrez, which I think is reasonably achievable, and would give us the ability to dominate ⅔ of the league and be competitive with the rest.

To make our old system work we would probably need 9 new players as most either couldn't play the system anymore, or for some reason wouldn't.

Puel and his new system shouldn't be compared to our title winning team, it should be compared to the desperate, heartless, mindless and hopeless team that followed.

The dire change in our team since and the failure to build on our success has made me mad, and has been immensely frustrating, and whether you believe the rumours of betrayal by players, chicken nuggets, and unkept promises to players is responsible or something else, certainly something went very wrong! Puel I feel has stopped the rot and given us a platform to build on again.

But presumably you were trying to get him sacked. If he'd been sacked, do you think we'd have been promoted that season?

No and no. It was the making of him as a manager. Sometimes fans have to do the dirty work.

Some of the players get it. The shittier the player tomorrow, the more they love the club. I'll give Vardy a pass as he's playing for the World Cup. Those with no other agenda should stink the place out. I think they're way ahead of us.
