Hoddle is a wacko!

If we have a manager that some think is 'a wacko' but is successful for us, I'd be happy.

Let's give David Icke a try then.

I struggle to find the offense in that, and I know that it's fashionable to look really hard these days. At no point did Hoddle call for disabled people to be treated poorly or with a lack of respect (indeed, what person who believed in karma would be so foolish).

The hypocrisy of those elements of the press who took time out from chastising disabled benefit claimants to hound the man, now that was offensive. I'd wonder what those journalists, readers, advertisers and so on might become in their next lives, but they already appear to be algae.
Whilst I agree with your sentiments on the hypocrisy of the press, I find the implication of what he is saying offensive. And I've met him and found him to be a nice bloke in person.

You seriously cannot see how offensive it is to suggest that a disabled person is simply paying for being 'bad' in a former life?

I mean, really? Read the quotation again. If you still don't think it's offensive you may wish to ask yourself a few serious questions. This isn't people being pedantic or prissy, this is an international football manager making truly horrible and malicious comments about disabled people having brought about their own predicament for 'sins in a former life'.

Oh, there's also the implication of his 'half decent brain' comment. If he is suggesting that some people are 'born without this' in the same sentence as he discusses people 'born without working hands and feet' then his understaning of mental illness is also despicable.

You've got to thank Hoddle for counteracting the ludicrously good press Buddhists otherwise get.

If he didn't buy into that bollocks, he could die happy.

Although perhaps a little wary as to what he might be reincarnated as.

So are there still any Ranieri out fence sitters?

Most people on here expected to see us get tonked tonight by at least 5 goals, irrespective of the team Ranieri put out.

Optimists thought a 3 goal defeat might be almost respectable, considering how well Arsenal did.

Ranieri sends out his '2016 Champions' who play at their now usual 2017 pace with little attitude to try and win the game.

Ranieri has publicly declared that his priority is the League and tonight he 'rested' some of the more promising new boys for the match against Liverpool.

Second half out come the Champions of 2016 plaing like the Chamions of 2016, and take the fight to the Spaniards, and come away with a very respectable 1-2 result against a team that would easily finish top 4 in the PL.

So did Ranieri work some magic at half-time? Is he still a liability, or can we actually say that with the exception of Schmeichel, our boys owed their manager a 'performance'?

I expect Ranieri still to be our manager next year. I expect us still to be a Premier League team next year.

I do not expect that more than about 4 or 5 at the most of our Champions will be starters.

Agreed, but with the shoulder injury to our new CB that just leaves Benny and Big Was, who had a reasonable game against Derby in the replay.

LCFC believe him to be a midfielder.

I thought the plan was to play Amartey and Mendy either side of N'didi?

That's a fukin' daft plan. Given how slapstick our defending has been, we've got to start playing Amartey at the back. Shame about Wague and I would never pick Wasilewski but Benalouane + Amartey is surely worth considering?

I think that Amartey is more important to us as our best harrassing and pressing midfielder. we have to close those players down to survive.

Surely that's what we bought Ndidi for.

Ndidi seems to be more of a DM to me. Amartey attacks the ball. I think they'll be perfect together. From what I've seen Ndidi could be the better CB, he likes to play deep and can head a ball nicely. However I do love it when he makes the effort to get up front and shoot.

Ndidi i think is perfect at cm at the moment and Amartey is fine when he plays at rb or cb so we should just keep it the same for now

Have we ever played Amartey at CB?

I think he's totally wasted at RB.

I don't mind trying him at CB but not sure now is the time.

Wherever he plays I think he needs to be in our starting line-up every week.
