Ranieri Sacked

I'm too old to be surprised by anything in football but it doesn't stop me feeling disappointed that it had to end like this. I'll forever be grateful to Claudio but the king is dead long live the king (whoever he may be) - such is football.

I wanted him gone but I had made peace with him staying until the end of the season. We did speculate that a decision was made after Swansea but they were letting him have the cups games.

Thank you Claudio for the best season of my life.

Knives are going to be out in the media now. Cottee on SSN saying we are not close to going down so why did we sack him but in the same breath saying whoever comes in is coming to a relegation fight.

You all need to accept that the decision has been made from a business point of view. If we are relegated we are going to have big financial problems.

If the coaching staff and players have fallen out with the manager then I agree with the decision. It is incredibly sad but we need to survive. The business comes before any sentiment (and I wish it didn't).

Whats more, there are rumours than Ranieri has treated some players like shit. Perhaps it isn't all black and white.

I genuinely cannot understand comments like this. Each to their own and all that but is that honestly how you view them? Those that along with Claudio gave us something we never dreamed we would have? Sorry was referring to he comment by Fitz above and forgot to 'quote'

Yes right now that is how I feel. Memories of last season will be the thing once they've gone. Until then we've got the present day and players who haven't tried and generally just took the piss out of us this season. Kante left us with good memories and left when he didn't want to stay, him and a handful of current players have credibility at present.

Where you seeing those rumors Mick?

Typical punditry. How can he say we are not close to going down.

However it is very sad to see the number of people on Twitter now saying they hope we go down. We've lost all good feeling towards this club in less than a year, possibly even since last night.

But - gutted as I am, and I didn't want this to happen, let's face it we were heading to an embarrassing run of results with no sign of it stopping. The board must have felt they had to do something. And it's probably only brought the departure forward three months.

In the Sevilla thread I posted... "The pundits made much of the fact that only CR celebrated Vardy's goal - the rest of our bench were unmoved - anyone see it that way or have an opinion on our 'band of brothers' team spirit"
Less than 24 hrs later, Claudio is sacked - So who was on the bench - King obviously , but did it include Shakespeare et al?

Maybe Claudio had lost the dressing room in Mourinho style. Our over paid and overrated players must feel so very proud of themselves now - *****

I'm angry, embarrassed, shocked and distraught by this news.

**** this. **** football.

I don't blame the owners, I blame the sport.

Where you seeing those rumors Mick?
Rob Dorsett, John Percy.... People who have good links within the club. There has been enough in the media to know that there has been a problem.
Slate the players all you like but if the messages you recieve on the training ground are utterly bewildering how the **** do you manage to perform.
It is interesting that last year the squad/team were largely left to continue as they had from the season before. This season the tinkering starts and guess what...
I love Claudio , I really do but he had lost the players. They had lost complete faith.

There's being out of form and there's not even trying. If it was that he had them baffled then fine, fact is they've purposely put our club in this position out of spite. **** the fans eh?!

Disappointed from a sentimental point of view but I think it's the right football decision.

I hope the new manager treats the squad like the relegation threatened, goalless mistake ridden petulant losers that they are and any player who was undermining Ranieri needs to be swiftly removed from the club. If that has to include some or even all of our so called 'big names' then so be it. The Chinese transfer window is still open.
