After last night there is only one man and in his namesakes immortal words

Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.

Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them, others may forget they were ever great (for a period six months) and then when everyone tells them how shit they are now, recover that greatness.

Would be a disaster with this current bunch, his tactics mirror how Claudio had us set up for most of this season, slow, rigid and turgid football, and as this season has shown, hardly a recipie for success, so thanks for the interest Woy but if it's all the same please feck off down to the owl enclosure at Twycross Zoo.
Agree completely - (Apart from the gratuitous abuse at the end). Roy is guaranteed to play our 'stars' out of postion and as per England 2016, has been shown to be tactically inflexible .

Luis Enrique could do a job for us and will be looking for a club similar to Barcelona that wins the League and could be qualifying for the Champions League quarter finals!

LEICESTER are ready to appoint Craig Shakespeare as their new manager.

The struggling champions have made up their mind that the former assistant manager is the man to lead their relegation fight and Champions League bid, following the sacking of Claudio Ranieri.

A decent showing against Hull on Saturday is set to see the 53-year-old confirmed on a full-time appointment, after he inspired the Foxes to a 3-1 victory over Liverpool on Monday. Former England boss Roy Hodgson and ex-Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink have been linked along with Huddersfield's David Wagner.

And it is understood Leicester want to appoint Shakespeare during the 10-day break after the visit of struggling Hull before the Champions League second leg against Sevilla. Shakespeare is popular with the players at the club who so clearly lost faith with Ranieri. And by appointing him as full-time manager the club know he will have more authority for the rest of the season. The support for Shakespeare shone through in Leicester's demolition of Liverpool and won't have gone unnoticed by billionaire owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha who was watching on from the stands

Bookies slashed Hodgson's odds after it became clear he might be interested in the job. But Hodgson's age - he is 70 in August - and England's disastrous showing at Euro 2016 may see Leicester's owners struggle to convince Foxes' fans he is the man for the job.

A Leicester source insisted last night: "They've met Hodgson, but Shaky will get the job."

Anyone except Hodgson and Pardew!

I'm interested , if a little nervous, to see what Shakespeare has devised for Saturday's match.

If he's able to get us to break down and beat what I expect will be a very negative Hull, I'd like Craig to take charge for the rest of the season at least.

Listening to some Italian classical just now whilst eating my dinner and an instrumental of Nessun Dorma, the lump in my throat almost prevented me completing the meal.

I doubt whoever comes in will ever be capable of stirring such emotions in me ever again.

Me too

I don't get all the negativity towards Hodgson. At similar sized clubs in Fulham and West Brom he did a good job. Don't get me wrong. I'd like us to continue with improved performances and for Shakey to get the job. But we could do a lot worse than Hodgson. Every manager post Bobby Robson has messed up the England job.

Terry Venables? Euro 96? When football came home, apparently?

Venables wasn't that great. Drew against the Swiss, won the game they were expected to against the Scots, had one very good win against Holland, were outplayed for much of the match against Spain and in the end were lucky it went to penalties, didn't play too badly against the Germans but nothing outstanding.

Fair enough. But generally managers fail at England. I don't think Hodgson should be totally judged on that.
No, he should be judged on his inability to motivate and the utter shambles of a performance his side put in each match during the Euros. He should be judged on the way he refused to face up to his failures and ran away from the tourno without bothering to apologise to the supporters (even if they should have known better).

He should be judged on his baffling squad selection, utterly bizarre positioning and getting his most natural striker to take the corners.

Yep, maybe back when Crown Court was all we had for daytime television he might have been OK at keeping sides up - but by Christ we should have loftier aspirations than that these days.
