No, he should be judged on his inability to motivate and the utter shambles of a performance his side put in each match during the Euros. He should be judged on the way he refused to face up to his failures and ran away from the tourno without bothering to apologise to the supporters (even if they should have known better).

He should be judged on his baffling squad selection, utterly bizarre positioning and getting his most natural striker to take the corners.

Yep, maybe back when Crown Court was all we had for daytime television he might have been OK at keeping sides up - but by Christ we should have loftier aspirations than that these days.

Completely agree. Terrible tactics, squad selection etc. Would hate to see him as our manager. Am I just being an old romantic wanting O'Neill back, or could he still do a job for us?

Listening to some Italian classical just now whilst eating my dinner and an instrumental of Nessun Dorma, the lump in my throat almost prevented me completing the meal.

I doubt whoever comes in will ever be capable of stirring such emotions in me ever again.
Maybe we should hire the first young sexy female manager.

Because he's only managed 4 games in his career. I think we should ignore all the good preformances he's managed and just focus on these.

I don't want him but he's not so bad and there are a lot worse out there.

Imagine if we would 10+ ocsecutive games before not doing well in 4.

Hodgson is now 1-5 and some bookies have suspended betting on him.

It won't be that old sod...........will it?

Replacing Ranners with Penguin off Batman, **** me.

If we haven't learnt that the bookies know nothing by now, we'll never learn.

I thought that was how betting worked. The odds shorten as more more people bet on a particular event. Nothing to with the likelihood of the event occurring, or inside knowledge, just reflecting the market.

Venables wasn't that great. Drew against the Swiss, won the game they were expected to against the Scots, had one very good win against Holland, were outplayed for much of the match against Spain and in the end were lucky it went to penalties, didn't play too badly against the Germans but nothing outstanding.
But reached the semis and should have won the game ???

Shakey now down to evens alongside the Hodge which seems to confirm what I would say is the most logical approach - Shakey til the end of the season if we put in a good showing this afternoon, Hodgson til the end of the season if we don't.

Shakey till the end of the season, give ourselves time, then hopefully with premier league status secured go for Brendon Rogers who I think would be a perfect fit for the way we are set up to play, plus he is a relatively young and forward thinking manager.
