Yellow Card:
Leicester City: Bori, Cox
New signing Jamie Clapham came through 66 minutes of action as Gerry Taggart's reserve side battled out a 2-2 draw with Coventry City at the Martson's Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
Clapham, who joined the Foxes from Wolves at the end of last week, had an impressive game at left-back before making way just after the hour mark.
Taggart was able to field a strong side for the contest, with the likes of Paul Henderson, Bruno N'Gotty, James Wesolowski, Gabor Bori, Radi Kishishev, Matty Fryatt and DJ Campbell all included in the starting 11.
Leicester's first chance of the game came in the fourth minute. Coventry 'keeper Daniel Ireland was only able to parry Campbell's free-kick, but Fryatt was unable to steer home the rebound.
But Fryatt would find the target with 16 minutes on the clock - the former Walsall striker firing home from close range following a Kishishev corner.
Thornton almost got a goal back for the home side on 24 minutes, but Henderson did well to get down to his 25-yard effort.
The Sky Blues would find the net moments later though, Chris Birchall tucking the ball away from six yards out.
Scott Dann had the first effort on goal of the second half, but his 25-yard drive fell just wide of Henderson's left hand upright.
Campbell laid the ball off to Fryatt on the edge of the area on 56 minutes, but his effort fell just over the bar.
Henderson kept the scores level on 69 minutes when he saved bravely to deny Birchall.
But the Australian could do nothing moments later to prevent Wayne Andrews scoring from eight yards after good work from Thornton.
City continued to press, and their efforts were rewarded when Ryan Beswick smashed home a free kick from 20 yards to redress the balance on 78 minutes.
Fryatt had the best chance of the closing stages - but an excellent last ditch tackle from Dann meant that both sides had to be satisfied with a point on the day.
Leicester: Henderson, Cox, Clapham (Rowe-Turner 66), N'Gotty (Garner 61), Worley (triailist), Wesolowski, Bori, Kishishev, Fryatt, Campbell (Burns 73), Beswick.
Subs not used: Douglas, Hellings.
Coventry: Ireland, Francis, Borrowdale, Hildreth, Dann, Hall (Burgess 61), Cairo (Ritchie 82), Thornton, Birchall, Andrews, Davis.
Subs: Simmonds, Collett, Walker.
Not a bad game considering the conditions very strong cold crosswind and then heavy rain in the second half. Worley... the trialist looked a uncompromising centre half 6'4" roughly and did'nt look bad at all considering, worth keeping an eye on
Clapham played as though he needs more time on the pitch for fitness, Fryatt pounced on a DJ shot that the keeper could only parry and the free-kick that Beswick scored was an absolute rocket.
Handfull of spectators ....few from Coventry but bloody freezing cold in the second half with no shelter from the wind must be mad at my age :icon_bigg
