I've spent the last few minutes thinking about £1.2 million, and no matter how hard I think, it still seems like a lot of money.
I don't think it is as long as he turns out to be a very good signing. We can't really judge that until we've seen him play. The age isn't really a concern for me especially when you see the likes of Tugay playing at 40. Now I'm not suggesting that Wellens is as good as Tugay but if the guy keeps himself in good shape then he will have at least 5 years out of him. I think central midfield is an area where we really needed cover and more importantly an influential figure. Hopefully, Wellens will be the one. By all accounts he is a good player and will be missed by Donny. Lets hope he turns out to be a great signing.
