What would we have done today in RK's position?

No substitiutions compared to Sunderlands three. Does this mean we had it under control and they were panicking, or does it mean we have totally ran out of ideas and so do nothing instead.

There was clearly IMO a need to bring Hume on, especially after they scored as we were on top and could have forced a winner

I am confused by todays decisions and many of late. What else could RK have done today (after kick off) to clinch the win?

we werent there for a start so cant really comment!

but we dont know Humes fitness state, he could have picked up a knock.

It sounded like we were on top - so if its not broke dont fix it!!

Considering everyone on here apart from a select few were sayong it was going to be 3-0/4-0 to the black cats, why arent we looking at the positives rather than the negatives.

Come on Leicester!!

We needed a goal :102: We always need goals, we MUST try to win every game.

If we are 1-1 with 20 minutes to go and we are on top, go for it FFS, push for the winner. We don't get them opportunities very often

I think it's all a tad too negative.

agreed!

but what im saying is we cant change what has happened so lets look on the positives of this game.

Andy Johnson looks like he is at full fitness and playing well
Weso sounded like he had a stormer
Fryatt scored!! and played well
And we are playing our kids week in week out something we wanted since CL was here!!

We do need to push for goals and if you have a look at the stats we had our fair amount of chances.

I know we can't change it, it's a harmless debate and a bit of fun Scarbs. I'm not complaining nor criticising (too much), I'm just trying to converse with my peers as to what each of us would have done different in that situation

if everyone was fully fit then i would have played Hume instead of O'Grady from the start, as i think those two were our saving grace last year

I think Scarbs has a point about the reaction though. I'm a little disappointed that we didn't win but will take the point.

Given that most other people on here (not me) thought we were going to get hammered then surely this week won't be doom and gloom seeing as we got (a) a performance and (b) a point

But, as you say Melton, you have a right to debate the tactics. But I hope it's done positively for a change!

Why do you think it was clear we needed to bring Hume on?

After the way he's played this season, don't you think we'd be better off with him staying on the bench?

If we were on top I don't see a reason to change things.

Of course I may change my mind after hearing from people who were at the game, rather than relying on the RL commentary.

I don't know why I f*cking bothered, I was asking what others would do in the same situation. I'm not asking anybody to justify their opinions. 8 replies so far and everybody is opinionless.

OK Melts, from listening to the commentary I think he did the right thing to keep things as they were. We were playing well and suonded strong despite the equaliser. I'd have been too concerned that changing the XI might have led to a winner for them.

i made an opinon in reply 5.

I just think that we did the job today against a talented experienced Sunderland side.

Again its hard to say how we would have changed it after they scored cos we only had the radio, but looking at our bench Hume was our only real attacking option so YES i have brought Iain on and played him behind O Grady and Fyratt!

If it finishes 1-1 we are not on top, we are level.

If we are on top during play we need to capitilise not play for the status quo

We don't seem to have the mental toughness required to close games out. Imo the last two seasons have been blighted by our failure to hold good positions. That said it was a good point today gained in a hostile venue.

But if the 11 players on the pitch are playing well, why change things?
That is indeed a strong case to argue against other than with exception of the goal we seemed to be lacking penetration.

I would possibly have brought on Hume to play behind the front two and drop back into midfield when required. Having not been there it would be difficult to make a decision on which midfielder to take off, possibly Hughes or Porter as these two lack the defensive skills of Johnson and Weso
