IN consequence, on a lot of occasions, to needless substitutions.

Possibly negative tactics. They don't seem to believe in going for a two goal lead, its more the case of hanging on to what they've got. Fitness as well, how often do we finish a game when we are pulverising the opposition.

no i would have put Weso there with Hughes on the right and andy johnson in the middle

Wesolowski isn't a left winger.
Earlier in the season (and last season) there was a lot of criticism of our tactics because of unbalanced nature of the team, either having no wide players, or wide players not playing out wide.
What you're suggesting would have meant going back to that failed formation :icon_conf

Putting Weso on the left wing would be stupid. We definatly need an out and out winger other than Levi: he's only young and you can't put that much pressure on him

Where was Josh Low today?

And I know this will go down badly, but if Low isn't available, put Sylla on the bench.

i can't believe you just said that

That is indeed a strong case to argue against other than with exception of the goal we seemed to be lacking penetration.

The stats don't seem to show that: 7 shots on target, 7 off target, 5 corners. Compared with 4,5,2 for Sunderland. A cracking away performance I reckon. Fryatt could have bagged more, it's true, and then we'd be laughing.

I reckon Kelly got the squad and tactics right, both at the start and when we conceded. I can't see that bringing Hume on would've done anything to help.

he isnt, but he can play there!! he has done in the past for the reserves! granted he isnt an out to out left midfielder but he would do the job

We need Weso in the middle he's the only strong tackler we've got.
But I do get concerned with the negative tactic of condensing play to down the middle of the pitch leaving wide open spaces on the flanks, it gives teams to many opportunities if they play wingers or wing-backs.
Also I do not like us trying to close up shop after one score
we are not good enough to do it

"are you levein in disguise?" the last thing we want to do is revert back to pissing about with positions, i prouldy let my city shirt be seen in sunderland after the game and plenty people said we deserved to win if not draw.............a team that thinks its the dogs bollocks, and the fans say that? that shows we made a good impression today

Just spoken to Boc on the phone, surprised you're sober after what he said...

I would have taken Porter off and put Twatoo on after about 75 mins.

It was the period where Sunderland where on top, and i think we needed a bit more presence on the left side.

I don't think this would be a negative sub, i think it would have meant us getting and keeping hold of the ball in the final 15 mins.

haha what did he say? i am doing good but when the goal went in our little "northern foxes" group went mental and ive now got a shin full of antiseptic

Just said it would be quite a while before you were sober!

The feckpig phoned me to settle an argument he was having with some Darlington fans. I think you can guess who was right!

what were they arguing about? what is the biggest waste of farmland and money in the north east? obviously their ground, paid for by safe-breaking scum like the chairman. i thought boc knew me better than to think i was hammered today, people from consett take more than ten lambrini bottles to get hammered.........its how classy it is
