MM only advises the manager about players he thinks may be of benifit to the first team.

I think that the proof, or otherwise, of this statement is in the number of the new signings that Allen played. He didn't want most of them and, like Megson, didn't play them. The first time that he dug his heels in (JFH), Milan froze him out.

mm will be happy if those playing are showing 100% commitment and desire for the club, to warrant their place in the team.

If you have 9 outfield players doing that, you need one who maybe give only 95% but can do something special/unexpected

Well it would appear that MA's judgement was equally as flawed as MM's then wouldn't it :102: It seems to me that had Allen told Cort and countless others to feck off we wouldn't be in this mess, but he didn't, he chose to make a stand against one of the true quality players we could have bought in and it backfired big time, JFH is just what we are crying out for at the moment.

Your point above merely goes to prove how far out of his depth Allen was, and that he has to take a big share of the blame. From what I have read and heard Mandaric identified possible targets and Allen had the final say.

Think he also identified alot of target that allen might have turned down??

From what I heard from a pretty relaible source and it was nobody with a hidden agenda, MM had identified and set up possible deals with a number of very good players that Allen vetoed.

I wasn't arguing pro-Allen, I was suggesting that , even accepting that Megson is the right choice as manager, it is optimistic to assume that he will have a large say in whom we sign.

In last week's meeting, MM stated that he signed only the one player (N'Gotty) and that MA got all of the players that he'd identified and asked for.

Yes, I tell all the ladies that I am a sex god - I am not believed either.

damn it ... and I thought I was being so original ... :tumbleweed:

But I suspect he's far too clever to throw any meaningful amount of it away on the LCFC money pit

Not so, he is as we speak looking for another useless bastard to shell out his hard earned on a fresh bunch of useless tossers.

Too late for that and if he ever wants to make anything on this 'investment' he needs LCFC to be in the premier league...and he aint going to get there on the cheap.

A few - more like 15! Of the new players in, I only rate Fulop, Clemence and N'Gotty. There are possibly others like Kaebi, but I have only seen about 5 minutes of him! £2 million+ for DJ Campbell? That makes him 40x more expensive than de Vries! I am not convinced he is even 2x better!

MDV is better from what i have seen.

Mandy himself is loaded. More fingers in more pies then you or I will ever have.

Of course, i was refering to what i think he would be willing to put into LCFC

Megson needs to go into the transfer market but for players he can rely on, maybe someone he has worked with before, anyone heard of this Andy Johnson fella?
